Message from the founder

There are still many people who suffer from hunger. It is still a challenge to access a proper meal for some people even though we have moved to another level of the pandemic. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, people's eating habits were challenged. The Golden Anchor Solid Rock Foundation is committed to combating hunger and malnutrition. Therefore, we assist and protect people, especially women and children living in fragile environments. Working with children and youth in these fragile settings is a challenge for us. The food price crisis makes it difficult for the elderly to eat a nutritional diet on a daily basis. Golden Anchor Solid Rock Foundation hopes to involve youth in the project.

Children project

Fighting hunger and malnutrition is one project of the Golden Anchor Solid Rock Foundation. The organization aims to put children at the center of the project.

The children received sweets and fruit. Thanks to our donor Food Forward SA for your continued support.
The needy children received school bags and school wear. Thanks to our sponsor PEPSA for your support.

Waste pickers and street dwellers

Waste pickers form an important part of the economy of the province. The organization provides a meal and a safe space to these people.

FLTR -The organization members took food to the waste pickers where they were sleeping in the first picture. In the second picture, the beneficiaries came to the house to collect food.

Projects

The women's day was an immense success. The beneficiaries thanked the team for the food and hygiene products.

The women in the picture are street dwellers.

Conferences, seminars, and workshops

The organization is committed to developing its employees. As a result of the first strategic planning meeting, the organization is looking into training and job creation opportunities for young women and men.
The office administration training was also very important since the staff needed to become accustomed to filling out forms

FLTR - The board members are busy with strategic planning. Second picture Gerald Louw attended an office administration practical session for Food Relief Alliance South Africa (FRASA) members.

The board member who attended this summit found it to be informative. Among the topics discussed at the summit were economic power, economic redistribution, and maintaining human life. Social justice also implies looking at the most impoverished and marginalized populations. For meaningful engagement, "people who are affected must be involved."

Donors

The organization is thankful for people that invest in the organization. The project becomes a community project and people around the Suburbs are donating to the project. It received donations from the southern, northern, and central suburbs. The donations vary from money, clothes, and vegetables.

FLTR - Mr. Sedic Parker, Woodstock, handed over an R700 donation to the organization. Second Picture Mr. Errol Solomon, from Kuils River, donated clothes to the organization.
FLTR - Ceceline, from Mitchells Plain, donated a box eezeepaste nut and spices. Second picture Hester Bergh donated vegetables.

Publications

"Die son" published an article on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, about the school wear and bags the group distributed to needy children. This was made possible by a donation from PEPSA.
