Entertaining the children at Woodstock Peace Garden

Stationary packs

The children received stationary packs. These packs were donated by LoveStruck. Hester Bergh handed the packs over to the different beneficiaries. The children and parents liked the present.

Activities in the park and what to see

There were activities for the children to keep them busy while waiting on the major activity of the day. The children enjoyed themselves. Some children showed they liked treasure hunting, they enjoyed watching the animals and the trampolining.

Children in the park.

The leaders of different NPO's in the Woodstock, Salt River area bring kids together to enjoy the day in the Woodstock Peace Garden. The children came from District Six, Salt River, and Woodstock. They first gather as one group before they break up in their original groups with their leaders. The idea was to explain to them the reason for the gathering. The social ills of society affected these children, e.g. homelessness, poverty, substance abuse, and hunger.
Parents of some children came along to see what the children are doing. They were also there to help the leaders to control the children and to act as security guards. It was good to see that they are interested in the well-being of their children. This act helped to secure the children are in a safe space.
This networking act was an excellent result of the activity with the children. Leaders joined hands to make the day a day that the children will not forget. The leaders are from left to right: Ndoxy (Cissie Goal House), Gerald Louw (Golden Anchor Solid Rock Foundation), Sheradia Brown (Circle of Compassion) and Khanyisani Mathanda (Golden Anchor Solid Rock Foundation) Absent in the picture is Hester Bergh (Donor)

A plate of food on a Sunday afternoon to a stranger

Golden Anchor Solid Rock Foundation team is feeding the day job seekers. Some of these guys are not staying in Woodstock or Salt River, but they are coming every day to come and look for a day job. Some days they might be lucky to get a job but there also the days like a Sunday that the job opportunities are very limited. They are not only standing there for the entire day, but some of them do not have money to buy food to give them the strength to keep on waiting and hoping someone will come to offer them a job. The aim of Golden Anchor Solid Rock is to give hope to hopeless individuals and on a day like a Sunday afternoon that is what the organization is doing by providing a plate of food to these folks.

Feeding the vulnerable children

Feeding the needy children is the passion of the Golden Anchor Solid Rock Foundation. The organization realized the importance of a healthy diet for children. The organization will feed the children they can reach. It is important to ensure that in the community they serve no children must go hunger.

Stationary to the needy children

A Donor to the organization shows the school packets the donor received to assist Golden Anchor Solid Rock Foundation in their stationary project. We will distribute the packs amongst the neediest children in the community.

Seed plant to grow your own vegetables

The organization is going from strength to strength. The organization embarks on a journey to plant it own vegetables. The training the management receives in the above picture is all about the planting of seeds. The organization is looking for options to plant its own vegetables for use of feeding the vulnerable. The training session was well-attended and the participants give their input. The training session will equip me better to grow my own vegetables.

Networking for better service delivery

n

Golden Anchor Solid Rock Foundation is open for networking if it means better service to the beneficiaries. The executive director and a volunteer of the organization are meeting with a director of another NPO to discuss how the two organizations can network to deliver better service to the community they serviced.
