Golden Anchor Solid Rock Foundation is partnering with breadline Africa, and the SoupaGroup in Woodstock Cape Town to fight hunger in the community. They are giving needy bread and soup daily.  The communities of Woodstock, Salt River, and Observatory welcomed the initiative.

Our children are our future. The team of volunteers of Golden Anchor Solid Rock Foundation feeding the neediest children in Klapmuts. The children turn up in numbers. They enjoyed the food.

The organisation's target was to hit 125,000 sandwiches, and at 2:30 pm the record was broken, exceeding the current South African record by almost 18,000 and smashing the world record by almost 68,000.

What makes me most happy about this story is that they chose not to officially verify the record by Guinness World Records as the cost of this would have been more than R200 000, which they believe can be better used to feed the nation!

Feeding the most vulnerable in society

Ousie Maria Jeje, a volunteer at Golden Anchor Solid Rock Foundation, is still feeding the children during this covid-19 pandemic period. The children enjoy the meals and ask when the team will provide the next meal.  Children are a wonderful investment in any society.

Feed the children of our future.

Feeding the children in Klapmuts on Mandela Day. Provide children with soap to encourage personal hygiene. The children received a delicious fat cake with a fish filling. They like it very much.

Mandela Day contribution

Golden Anchor Solid Rock Foundation does its part in a project organized by Laddles of Love for Mandela Day. Early in the morning, one volunteer went out to feed the street dwellers and homeless individuals. A response from a daily job seeker was " thank you for the food, I am looking for a job but the soup and bread will keep me going for the day." A response from a homeless individual was "thank you for thinking about us, I was wondering where to get something to eat.." It was good to get such responses on a Mandela Day.

The team of Golden Anchor Solid Rock Foundation does what they do well, providing food for the people in need. Sunday 05 July 2020, is a day when the street dwellers can look forward to a healthy meal. The team provided a healthy vegetable meal to the street dwellers. The people enjoyed the food and asked for more. Diane the chef of the organization said she enjoys preparing food on a Sunday to the people. Any donation is welcome. It could be your brother, sister, mom, or dad on the street.
